The Six Best Ways to Generate a Massive Following of Viewers to Your Blog

By Rob Mead

Whenever someone starts out on that long road to achieving their goals in life, they must take that essential first step. When you start writing your very first blog entry, that first step is a very uncertain and clumsy one. You have no idea who will be reading it, for one thing. Another unknown element with writing your very first blog is the fact that you don't know if the topic you have picked for your daily or weekly blog is ever going to be popular enough to drive readers to your site so you can sell them your products.

Even if the only goal you are trying to reach with your blog is just to get your viewpoint on gun control out to the general populace, you still need to be sure that you are not just wasting your valuable time typing out your views on your new laptop. Watching your words disintegrate into the virtual internet trash heap of articles and blogs that nobody ever reads is no way to spend your precious time. To make sure that this never happens to you, I've developed these six powerful techniques for acquiring new readers that will be a major turning point for your blog if done correctly.

1. LEARN HOW TO WRITE "PILLAR ARTICLES" AND HIGHLIGHT THEM ON YOUR WEEKLY BLOG
The term "pillar article" is a new catch-phrase that essentially defines a 500-600 word article on a subject or topic that is timeless and adds value and knowledge to whomever is reading it. This article style is not about a current news story, nor will it's true value diminish over time if written correctly. It can be a how-to article such as the one you are reading right now, or it could be an historical article written about a battle in WWII.

I wrote one such article called "Memorial Day- A Time to Remember True Heroism at 'The Battle of the Bulge'". It was a lengthy article about the hardships that our Army and Marines went through in 1944 to fight back the Germans during the end of WWII. It is a timeless piece that will not be negatively affected by the passage of time, because it gives the hard facts on the many lives lost on the battlefield, and describes the emotions felt on the German side and on the allied's side during that fateful and bloody battle. A lot of the people who read my article had no idea that it took 4 months of fighting for the allies to move the Germans back into their border, but that is a very important element of a "pillar article": give the reader knowledge he might not find elsewhere.

What is most important to remember about pillar articles is that they do form a strong structure, thereby giving your blog a strong foundation to build upon, hence the name 'pillar'. If you can write at least one of these articles per week, you will have over 50 excellent articles per year that your loyal readers will keep coming back for week after week. You can also more easily sell these articles to sites like Associated Content because they like the more substantial content that the pillar article usually contains, and that substance benefits their readers. Also, if you submit a pillar article to Ezines.com, the readers of that site will more than likely follow your url site on the bottom of your article page to your actual web site, and will be more open to buying your product. Be sure to archive all of your pillar articles so future viewers to your site can read them as well.

2. GET INVOLVED WITH LIKE-MINDED BLOG SITES
A very important step to self-promotion of your blog is to find other sites that deal with the topic or subject that you are writing about for your blog, and put comments on their sites. Most blog sites will allow your comment to be shown on their sites with your url linked to your main page. Once readers to the site that you wrote your comment on see your link, they will be curious as to how your site might be better than the one they were just on. If the main blog content on your site is more interesting than the one they were frequenting, then congratulations! You just stole a web viewer from somebody else's site, which is fair play in the world of the internet.

It's more of an even playing field for a content writer when it comes to blogging, because of the relatively short time that blogging has been around for. If you are a better writer than me, and can deliver more compelling advice on your blog site, I'd expect you to get some of my audience. It keeps us writers on our toes, which brings out a better writing quality to all aspects of internet content. And if you've seen a lot of the bad grammar and spelling I've seen lately on the vast majority of blog sites, any upgrade in the quality of internet writing is greatly appreciated by all web surfers who get tired of seeing all of the same spelling errors on everyone's site.

3. MAKE SURE TO HAVE A COMMENTS PAGE ON YOUR BLOG SITE
This is a mistake that a lot of new bloggers make nowadays. They don't see any real value in responding to an insipid comment or insult that a reader made about how they don't agree with the blog owner's view on abortion or gun control. The blog owner should always not only have a posting area on their blog site, but they should also respond to each and every comment someone makes. Why waste valuable time on such an effort? Because when new readers come to your site and see that someone posted comments there, it makes your site look a lot more important to them. Think about it. If you were looking for a blog about how to enhance your writing skills and you came across a nicely written blog without one comment written by an outsider, and then you left that site and found another one that had 25 comments behind a single topic thread, which one would you find more interesting? It would be the one that had more than just one view on the topic you were looking for, which would be the one with all the posted comments either criticizing or agreeing with the first posted blog.

You need to bring to your new readers a sense of exhilaration behind whatever your blog topic happens to be, and that means allowing all of your blog viewers to comment one way or the other about your main topic. And you need to respond to all threads because that conversation that was started by the first post has to be continued by somebody else to get more comments going. If you have to respond to get the ball rolling forward, so be it. It's all a part of getting viewers and customers to keep coming back to your site on a continuous basis.

4. USE A PROFESSIONAL DOMAIN NAME
I've already mentioned this in an article I've published before, but it does bear repeating because of how important this topic is. Using a domain name like "WritingTips@myblog.net" will make your site look more like a hobby than a serious business because it makes it appear as though you are too cheap or too uncreative to figure out a name for your blog site! Go ahead and splurge on the nine bucks it will take you each year to retain your professional blog site's name.
If you can come up with a name that perfectly describes the intent behind your blog, than that's great- go ahead and name it that. But if you can also come up with a name that contains a very popular keyword or phrase that the major search engines are always looking for, you've come up with a real winner that will immediately draw in a decent audience for your site within the first month of start up.

Another reason to always come up with a great name is the fact that web surfers always need a name they can remember so they are more easily able to tell somebody else about your blog site on another site's comment post. Word of mouth is probably the #1 way to acquire long-term viewers to your blog, so any possible way to generate positive word of mouth should be considered a top priority for you.

5. UPDATE YOUR BLOG ON A DAILY BASIS NO MATTER WHAT
Nothing turns off a casual visitor to a content-heavy web site or blog site than seeing a news story about an event that happened a month ago or even a few days ago. The sole purpose of having a blog in the first place is to keep your readers informed on a daily basis about events or happenings that effect the topic pertaining to your site. Most people think that if they are only getting 10 or 12 viewers a day to their site, than there is no need to start updating the news on their blog immediately, because who cares about having to appeal to such a small crowd of readers?

That theory is most definitely wrong, because the early viewers to your site are the ones that can tell others to go to your blog to read about your blog topic that his friends might have an interest in too. But the early viewers of your site won't give you good word of mouth because they think you are lazy or you're so ill-informed about your blog's subject matter that you can't even come up with any more content to put in your daily blog. In fact, they will tell their internet pals to avoid your site like the plague, giving your site the worst thing that can happen to an early start up blog: bad word of mouth.

Don't let bad word of mouth happen to you. When you first start out writing your blog, just imagine that you are writing for thousands of people who are hanging onto your every word, even though in the back of your mind you know this is not true. But by believing in that illusion you will in turn be capable of giving your content that extra edge that readers need to feel and taste in their mind that compels them to read your entire blog. That will make the early visitors to your site tell their friends all about your exciting new content web pages, which will allow you to see the future sales potential of your business through bringing in more viewers to your online company with great blog content.

But before you can get to that comfort zone of having more than two thousand hits a day, you will need to actually write much more articles on a daily basis to build up initial hits of a few hundred per day. You could take off Saturday or Sunday, but I would never take more than one day off per week as far as writing new content for your site during the initial growth of your business, because of the importance of building up new viewers to your blog through daily updates. And you must make sure that the new updates have something of value to bring to your new viewers. If they keep reading about the same news in the same way that another site they go to already is doing, why should they go to your site? Keep your content fresh and exciting and you will have no trouble attracting a wide viewer ship to your blog.

6. GET YOUR BLOG RANKED AT BLOGTOPSITES.COM
This promotional blog site has been around for a few years now, and it is highly recommended for any new blog site owner to submit their very best daily blogs to this site to get ranked by a cross section of your fellow bloggers. At the beginning of your new venture this tool will only get you 5-10 new visitors a day, but in the infancy stages of your blogsite getting any amount of new visitors to your company should be seen as a substantial growth pattern to your business.
After you register with Blogtopsites.com, you will have to make sure you submit your article in the right category. Doing so increases your chances of a higher ranking than if you submitted your article to a category that had nothing at all to do with your blog topic. To get properly ranked, you also have to put some html code into your article, but that task is fairly easy even if you don't know any html at all.

To wrap it all up, as long as you follow these specific guidelines, your future as a web site blogger should be a bright one.

What It Takes For Successful Blogging?

By Partha Bhattacharya

Blogging is a relatively new phenomenon, and when some people started it in earnest some 5 years back, perhaps there was no inkling in their mind that their blogs might turn up fabulous amount of money in just 2 to 3 years time.

Of all the motivations money is the best lure. So when early bloggers reported substantial earnings from blogs, one could see heavy rush among later blog-entrants like me to own one.

The rush has now become a torrent. Technorati CEO, David Sifry in his April 5 article (http://www.sifry.com/alerts/archives/000493.html) says that about 120,000 weblogs are adding everyday, which is nearly 1.4 blogs every second every day. Number of posts hovers around 1.5 million per day, or 17 posts per second.

However, to make money is not the only reason why blogs are so popular. It may be a strong motive, but perhaps the main reason behind blog-explosion is the ease of starting one. To be true, hosted blog – for example in Blogger, TypePad or Wordpress among others – can get going under half an hour.

With interest to succeed blogging steadily on the rise, it’s no wonder that Chitika’s initiative to publish 30 articles from 30 famous bloggers over 30 days from April 1 to 30 has evoked a lot of interest. The articles have been compiled in a free ebook, titled ‘Deep Secrets Of Successful Blogging’ [http://www.chitika.com/crm/BlogBash.pdf].

If anything, the ebook is an excellent reading. It is a kaleidoscope of what the bloggers feel as the most determining factors for successful blogging. There is good value to be had from the ebook, and it offers a rare insight on what goes to make a blog a success.

Since choosing content writing as a profession, I’ve advocated how websites, and indeed blogs, can climb the ladder to higher visibility with lots of fresh contents.

Looking at the various posts in the ebook, I believe there is good reason to consider contents as the main source of providing stickiness to a blog.

At the same time what needs to be stressed is that the blog posts need be mildly suggestive instead of forcing issues. This means a blog writer has to polish his writing style so that it doesn’t seem too educative or harsh to the readers.

I have no hesitation to admit that this is a valuable lesson for me because for long I believed that writings ought to be rather pushy, almost assuming the tone of that of a stern teacher.

Since I want my readers to genuinely benefit from my blog so that they feel like coming back often, I cannot afford a writing that puts them off. Because, in reality, however compelling the reason is, no reader wants to be ‘lectured’.

Some opinions in the ebook are quite helpful. I’ve pieced together some selected great insights of about 10 bloggers in this article, Learning The Tricks Of Successful Blogging.

My selection includes those of Liew Cheon Fong, Chris Pirillo, The Manolo, David Ponce, Joel Comm, Neil Patel, Aaron Wall, Daniel Scocco, Lee Odden, Darren Rowse and Keith Dsouza.

All in all, Chitika’s ebook can serve as a good reference point for new bloggers and old hands alike. The disparate views of 30 odd blog veterans merge at one point: How can you too become successful in blogging?

Targeted Blogging - 4 Quick Steps to Create More Money In Blogging

By James Krawder

The newest online trend in recent years has been blogging, the so called “art” of saying whatever you want to say but making profit by doing so. Since blogs can be listed on the internet without anyone ever actually reading them, what is the purpose of hosting or creating one yourself? Simple – a frequently updated blog can make your site more linkable and can even direct traffic to your website.

Here are four easy steps to make more money through targeted blogging:

1.Make it Pretty. A blog that is easy on the eyes is not only easier to read, but more attractive to possible clientele. The longer someone views your blog, the more likely they are to follow any links you’ve included. Also, the visual aspect of your blog can be easily aimed toward the audience you want to attract – simple, targeted blogging.

2.Make it Interesting. You don’t have to be a Pulitzer prize winner to write an interesting blog, but you do have to spend a little time with it. No one will read your blog if it is irrelevant or boring, so go ahead and add some creative flair.

3.Host it Yourself. If you can, host your blog on your personal website. It is a more difficult process, but it can lead to making your site a higher ranked site on a search engine, and can also increase other links to your site creating more traffic.

4.Target your Topic. Use your common sense here – if you are trying to attract middle aged men, don’t write your blog about make-up products. If you are trying to attract teenage girls as customers, don’t write your blog about politics. Make sure you select topics and ideas for your blog that will draw in the demographic you are aiming at in order to increase your targeted blogging traffic.

Using Forums for Internet Marketing Success

Do you want to promote your website? If you do, then you should try forum marketing. Online forums can be powerful and free Internet marketing tools if you learn how to use them properly. In this day and age, using online forums for Internet marketing is one of the most effective forms of free Internet advertising available.
Leveraging forums to promote your products, services, or website is a good idea if you've got time on your hands, but no money to advertise.
Few people know that the idea behind forum marketing is fairly simple. All you need to do is interact with other people that match the product you are promoting. Since these people are looking for a product that is similar to that you are offering, then there is a good chance that they will buy it if they look at the offer. The key is that in every post you make, your offer is automatically attached to your signature.

A person using online forums for Internet marketing purposes only needs to be engaged and to have fun. However, you should not talk openly about the product you are promoting because you will only be ignored. Let me give a few approaches that can help you in using forums for Internet marketing success.

The first approach that you can take is to answer questions that are posted on a particular forum. This approach will work for you if you're an expert on the topic. You can also take the opposite approach if you are not an expert on the topic. You probably do not know a lot of things if you are not an expert so you can start by asking a question. Many forum posters use this quick and legitimate way to add a lot of posts to any forum on the web.

Requesting the members of a forum for a critique is also an effective way of using forum marketing. This approach is useful if you have written an article and posted it in your blog. All you have to do is to make a quick post to ask what people think. This method will give you a back link to your blog and give exposure for your forum signature.

You can also ask the members of the forum for their opinions. Many people use forums to get direct feedback if they come across a product or service and want to research it first. Try making a post that says, "Have you ever tried this product...?"

The World-Wide-Web is teeming with forums that you can use for Internet marketing. Simply visit a high-traffic forum and sign up for an account. After you have confirmed your account, you can then log in and update your Profile. In your Profile, you can add your signature which will appear at the end of every post you make. Never forget to read the rules about posting. You can ask specific and relevant questions and you can answer questions by replying to posts that were made by the other members.

If you are new to forum marketing, then you can start by looking at what others are posting and how people are replying to those posts. You can post as much and as often as you can, once you get a feel for it. It is very important that you never advertise in your posts unless you are on a forum that permits ads. Just allow your signature do the Internet marketing work for you.

How To Select The Perfect Home Business

How To Select The Perfect Home Based Business Today, many people are taking advantage of the flexible work and turning to home based businesses which means there are plenty of opportunities and options for those who want to start a home based business. One of the first steps towards having success with a home based business is making sure you have a good home computer with internet access. However, after this it can be difficult to decide between the abundant opportunities available for those starting a home based business. It is often more a matter of finding a business that works for you since all of the home based businesses can bring you profits as long as you work at it. So how can you determine which home based business is best for you?

The first step you should take is identify what you are specifically interested in doing. While a home based business can be fun, it can also be boring if you find yourself doing something you don’t like to do. You should then look at your interests and find which ones will match with the schedule you and your family has. If you have a family or young kids then you may not want a business that requires meeting with clients or one that requires you to work during the day time. Make sure your management and time plan for a specific home based business will be able to work with your family schedule.

Consider whether or not you are willing to learn. There are many opportunities on the computer that you may be interested in doing, but without additional learning you may not be suited to the job. However, with today’s online learning it can be easy to take seminars online without having a conflict with your work schedule and family schedule. It may also be a good idea to follow this trend of online learning and start selling educational products since you will have a large market to work with and growth potential for your home based business.

You should also consider the company you are going to work for. Most of the companies that have home based jobs will want a payment of some kind. These payments can have a variety of variations and it is important to make sure the company is known for their honesty and integrity before going with them. Make sure you look into the companies history and profile to make sure they are a good company to go with before starting your home based business.

Consider looking for success stories and if possible talking with others who have already worked with the company in order to get adequate information about the company you are looking to work for.

Big Moves for Small Business

Big Moves for Small Business How to make your dojo a marketing success
As experienced instructors, you know: it’s the beginner student who teaches the teacher. I’ve had a similar experience recently while transforming Fortune 500, big-budget business ideas into easy-to-use plans for dojo owners. Helping my son launch an Aikido dojo in Portland, OR, I’ve learned how this works for a dojo… applying and implementing resources when every penny was scarce and he required immediate results.

In corporate America, we began by researching and analyzing the “market” and the audience we were trying to reach – often a timely and costly endeavor. I’ve already performed some of the legwork for you. What did we discover? While teaching may be a part-time avocation for many, it’s a full-time commitment. As with many artists, business and marketing efforts become part of a continuous to-do list that may often feel alien to the teaching philosophies. It takes money to implement and requires trade-offs with more important teaching goals. But unless potential students are constantly made aware of your dojo and services, it will be challenging to realize the full potential of your dojo dreams.

This is why you need an affordable and successful marketing plan. We started with simple marketing goals: to gain exposure for the dojo and attract new students. Like many new businesses the marketing budget was scanty. So, my priority was in finding free or low cost ways to achieve our objectives.

Here are the steps we’ve taken that can surely help any dojo, yoga studio, or small business owner attract new students or community members.

Who’s in your market?

A renowned Speaker of the U. S. House of Representatives famously stated “all politics is local.” Paraphrasing him I’d say, “all dojo marketing is local.” This is not literally true but offers an insightful guideline for those of us trying to attract and retain students for a dojo.

You know what services or disciplines you want to offer. You may have an idea of who you want to attract: children, teens, adults, seniors, families, the handicapped, commuters, corporations, etc. Setting your priorities is made easier with insights about which of these groups have the most money to spend in your area. Free online tools can help you find out.

• Identify all the ZIP codes and area codes within a 5-mile and 10-mile radius of your dojo – powerful data for focusing any marketing efforts. Many sites provide this information, some on a very limited free basis, and most require a registration. After checking out a dozen or so sites I found Melissa Data, a specialist in direct mail, [http://www.melissadata.com/] to be the most user friendly and flexible.

• Learn the population demographics – that is, the age, gender, income, number households - within each ZIP code to understand where the highest concentrations of people live. This will help you prioritize your time and budget. One of the best places to start is with US Census Bureau [http://www.census.gov/]. Check out the “QuickFacts” link for your state and try the other data button to find the “General Demographics Characteristics” – Table DP-1 will show you sex, age, household and other demographics by ZIP code or county. Or go to Census Bureau Fact Finders, input each ZIP code you are interested in and get the relevant profile. [http://factfinder.census.gov/home/saff/main.html?_lang=en].

• Think about where you can easily reach the most people with a single contact. Focus on the best schools, major employers, community support groups within your target ZIP codes. There are numerous general sources available to get started or to check your existing resources, some of the more useful include:

Local.com you can input “companies” and your locations to get a starting list of companies [http://www.local.com/]; and online phone directories such as Verizon SuperPages [http://www.superpages.com/] allow you to search for companies by city. The nice thing about these online sites is the ability you gain to quickly collect email addresses or in many cases, website links, for prospects you want to target.

Neighborhood Link [http://www.neighborhoodlink.com/] will identify local clubs and neighborhood groups in target ZIP codes. Start with a state search or by entering a ZIP code. Welcome Wagon [http://www.welcomewagon.com/?poe=welcomewagon] allows you to input a ZIP code or city name and explore “Community” associations of various types. These proved to be excellent starting points for tapping into neighborhood links and uncovering new possibilities for improving local awareness.

City-Data.com input your city of interest and access subject matter profile data; the “city Economy” link usually contains some industry and company data. [http://www.city-data.com/]
Many of the best sources are the state and community websites that vary from state to state. These include area universities, state government agencies, city and state development commissions, and online libraries.

Much of the information you need is available free but it will take you time and persistence. It’s well worth it because you will now have a basis for setting priorities. You’ll know which schools to go to, where to list in which phone books, where to try to place posters, and, at the appropriate time where to pay for shopper coupons or newspaper advertising.

Attract the Wide World to your website.

In our case, we have been building and renovating our dojo. So while construction was being completed, we shifted focus from purely local efforts to general online marketing and dojo exposure. The objective here was to make it easy for people looking for an Aikido dojo to find us. We are also proud of our website in that it represents our dojo and philosophy (http://www.ecoledebudo.com/), so sharing it with the world was an easy step. Here are some steps for you to consider.

• Use online searches to identify “popular” or high page-ranked dojos and examine their keywords to get an idea of what the major search engines were looking for. This is particularly important for identifying local directories that potential customers use when searching for services such as yours. The key is to put yourself in the shoes of a prospect and ask how you would seek your services. • Using your relevant set of key words, conduct free backlinks analyses to identify reputable martial arts directories that list disciplines or dojos you offer (for us these were general martial arts, Aikido, Jodo and Iaido). Many excellent directory sources offer free listings, some require registration or a free subscription to a newsletter, and some only list dojos associated with a particular style or federation. But you should find a dozen or more that meet your needs. A word of caution: there are many sources that want a reciprocal link from your site. This may or may not make sense for your needs.

• Submit your site to the MAJOR search engines: Google™, Yahoo™ and MSN™ are musts (and I recommend DMOZ); each of these has free submission options, along with “for pay” alternatives.

• Local directories are a must. List the dojo in every online directory serving the neighborhoods you want to serve. By local directories I include everything from online yellow pages, to city directories, to neighborhood blogs. For the special neighborhood sites write unique descriptions about your business and how it contributes to the local area. Emphasize special programs you have designed for the community.

• Exchange links with other dojos in the area and with dojos in your federation or with whom you have special relationships.

• Leave your link in forum postings, chat rooms, and the like. Be sure to include your site name in an email tag with every email you send.

Okay, but I still need students

Now on to some free marketing ideas for generating traffic through your front door and onto the mats.

• Take a personal approach to your press release activities. Focus your attention on key neighborhood periodicals and meet the staff personally – we have found this much more effective that simply mailing press releases. You’ll be announcing dojo openings, seminars, special events, results of ranking tests and more. Get to know the key media people, neighborhood groups and bloggers in your area. Invite them to the dojo. Grant interviews about your dojo and events in your neighborhood.

• Free market data about martial arts consumers is scarce. One frequently cited article reveals some 2003 data from American Demographics “Your Questions Answered - estimated 18.1 mil Americans took part in karate or some other form of martial art at least once in the past year” and can be found on LookSmart’s FindArticles at http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m4021/is_4_25/ai_100751497.
One finding in that article is that martial arts participants tend to be very active in other sports. In the Portland area these include many outdoor activities like hiking and snow boarding. Get to know the clubs and associations for similar activities in your market and cross-link with them, co-sponsor events, write for their newsletter, etc.

• You know where the schools are. Go to each and offer some “free lessons” as a package for their fund raising events.

• Put your company and website name on everything you print: Put it on your T-shirt. Business cards, press releases, stationary, advertising, invoices, statements, get a vanity license plate, coffee cups, posters, … the more times it is seen the more traffic you’ll see.

• Co-sponsor a community event at the dojo. An art exhibit? A fund raiser? A safety seminar?

5 Military Precision Methods To Increase Your Sales

By Fabian Tan

1) Follow-up
The money is in the backend! You have to capture your customer’s email address so that you can follow-up with your customer in the future with relevant products. It is harder to acquire a new customer than it is to make repeat sales from current customers.

2) Have a solid affiliate program
Offer an attractive commission to your affiliates and provide a complete set of affiliate marketing tools, including ads, emails, banners and articles. Affiliates are like your salesforce, and they work for you for free! An affiliate program can make or break an Internet business.

3) Offer an upsell
Before a customer checks out and completes his purchase, offer an upsell to an upgraded version of your product. Perhaps this upgraded version can have additional bonuses that they would not have with the ‘normal’ package. Customers here already have their credit cards in their hands, so it’s a prime time to get more sales.

4) Provide discounts
Once in a while, offer discounts to your products. Customers love discounts and will snap up your product if they had wanted to buy it but found the price out of their range. You can offer online coupons, which are all the rage these days. Discounts will keep your customers coming back for more and keeps your product in their minds.

5) Cross-sell your products
Before a customer checks out, you can also offer your other related products. You could form a joint venture with a competitor to promote each other's products on your site's thank you page or just before a customer checks out. This way, it's a win-win situation where you both benefit.

Your blog is up and running. You're regularly posting information you think your audience will enjoy and benefit from. Now, you need to build some traffic. Here are some ways to increase blog traffic.

2. Go to pingomatic.com and "ping" your blog every time you add a new blog post. This process notifies the major blog directories that your blog has been updated, thereby helping you increase blog traffic.

3. Submit your blog to blog directories. Some popular blog directories are: http://www.blogcatalog.com, http://www.bloggernity.com, and http://www.blogarama.com.

4. Submit articles to free article directories and link your blog's URL in the resource box. This will get you better page rankings and help increase blog traffic through natural searches.

5. Visit blogs related to your own and leave comments. Write something useful, rather than the all too often seen "Great blog. Now visit mine at..." types of comments, which are often deleted as spam.

6. Link to related blogs on your own blog and ask others to link to you. The more people who link to your blog, the better page rank you'll get from search engines. A good page rank will increase blog traffic.

7. Blog as often as possible. People like fresh content that is updated regularly.

8. Use signature lines to your advantage. If you post in forums, link to your blog in your sig line. Include your blog's link in your outgoing emails.

9. If you can afford it, sign up with Google's Adwords. If you're on a tight budget, you can choose the lowest option, which is 25 cents per day. You can choose to promote through keyword searches and/or through having your link placed on related sites. Both ways can increase blog traffic.

10. Consider purchasing a domain name for your blog. You can get a domain name for less than $10 per year. Unlike having a website, when you have a blog, you won't have to pay for hosting. Choose your domain name wisely. Of course, your domain name will need to relate to your blog. Choosing a keyword phrase that a lot of people who'd want to find your blog might search for is the best idea.

Affiliate Marketing Traffic - Making Use Of Classified Ads

Classified ads are usually 4 to 5 lines long that go out in the Ezine itself. They do not work that well anymore compare to the last time but it is still a cheap or free way to advertise. The skill that you will need in order for this thing to work is to have good basic copywriting skills.

The best way to make use of classified ads is to send the visitors straight to your squeeze page where you will offered them a free gift if they give you their email and name in return. Once they have opt in to your list, you will redirect them to your affiliate links so see whether they will buy the affiliate product or not. In this way, you will still be able to build your own list even if they do not buy the first time they see the affiliate product.

Once you have their detail, you will be able to build a relationship with them and contact them again and again till they buy your affiliate product or they unsubscribe from your list. This is the best way to make use of classified ads.

As most of the places where you can put classified ads are almost useless, you must know where to put your ads. The most popular and the least expensive way to put your classified will be to go to www.craiglist.org and www.USFreeAds.com. These 2 sites got lots of traffic coming in and the Google search engines always spider the site. So make good use of these 2 websites.
